2023 Ivy House:
THE FLOWER MAGAZINE BATON ROUGE SHOWHOUSE

This fall, FLOWER is taking our showhouse series to Baton Rouge, Louisiana where we’ll turn a custom Georgian home into a magnificent showhouse decorated by 15 high-profile interior designers. “Ivy House,” the classically-styled 6,000 square foot home was designed by Baton Rouge native Andy McDonald and Ivy Residential Concepts, a third generation design/build team also based in Baton Rouge. FLOWER magazine founder and editor-in-chief Margot Shaw has tapped legendary designers Barry Dixon as the Honorary Chair and Mary McDonald as our Design Chair.

Ivy Residential Concepts designed and built the classically styled 6,000-square-foot house. Located on the fabled Goodwood Estate in Baton Rouge, Ivy House is nestled within a 16 1/2- acre community dotted with live oaks, hollies, camellias, and azaleas. The grounds will be professionally landscaped by Reich Landscape Architecture, one of the oldest operating landscape firms in the state of Louisiana.

A walled courtyard leads guests into the house, where they will be greeted by a dramatic entry with a floating stairwell and a light-filled living room beyond. Other main-floor highlights include a gourmet kitchen and adjoining butler’s pantry, primary suite and dressing room outfitted in custom cabinetry, and nursery space designed to mature along with its occupant. Upstairs, a study and spacious family/media room offer opportunities to work or play, while two bedroom suites provide luxurious sanctums to retreat. The backyard beckons visitors outdoors and showcases the best in alfresco living, with a covered porch ideal for year-round entertaining, a pool bedecked in marble surrounded by a chic hardscape and turf checkerboard design pool deck, and a brick cabana for lounging and escaping the afternoon sun.

A portion of Ivy House ticket sales will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®.
